Château Lamothe‑Bouscaut Rouge 2017 is a beautifully smooth red from Pessac‑Léognan, with ripe blackberry, cedar, and cigar‑box nuances. Medium‑bodied with fine tannins and a lingering finish, this is approachable Bordeaux with pedigree.
Expect plush black‑fruit aromas (think plum and cassis), framed by toasty oak and tobacco spice. The palate is refined, with firm yet velvety tannins and a long, savoury finish.
Chateau Lamothe Bouscaut is located in the village of Cadaujac and dates back to the 12th century. In 1999 it was acquired by its neighbour, Chateau Bouscaut, owned by Sophie Lurton and Laurent Cogombles.
Made with minimal intervention, the vineyards of Lamothe-Bouscaut are managed sustainably and consist of deep, gravelly soils stretching down to the Garonne River. With only 6 ha in production, both Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon vines are on average 40 years old and wines are matured in French oak barrels for 12 months.
