Cepa Gavilán Crianza 2022 from Viña Pedrosa captures the bold yet elegant character of Ribera del Duero through carefully farmed Tempranillo vineyards in the village of Pedrosa de Duero in Burgos.

The Pérez Pascuas family have been tending vines here for generations, working with vineyards planted on the limestone and clay soils that give the region its depth and structure. Fermented in stainless steel and aged in American and French oak barrels, the wine develops layers of ripe dark fruit, spice and gentle toast while retaining freshness from the region’s continental climate.

We love it for its authenticity and balance — a classic Ribera Crianza that shows both power and polish.

Serve at 16–18°C with a short decant and enjoy over the next 6–8 years with roast meats, grilled dishes or Spanish classics.

  • ABOUT THE PRODUCTION

The Tempranillo grapes come from estate vineyards around Pedrosa de Duero, planted on a mix of clay and limestone soils at around 800–850 metres altitude. These soils help retain moisture and give the wines their depth and structure.

The grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks to preserve fruit purity before ageing for around 12 months in American and French oak barrels, allowing the wine to develop complexity while maintaining freshness and balance.
