Think red cherry, wild strawberry and plum, with hints of dried herbs and subtle spice. The palate is fresh and fluid, with bright acidity, soft, gentle tannins and an easy, savoury finish. Elegant rather than powerful — this is Rioja made for drinking, not overthinking.
Fruit comes from old, dry-farmed bush vines across Rioja’s three subregions, giving the wine natural freshness, complexity and balance. Vineyards are sustainably farmed, with deep respect for the land and the diversity of Rioja’s soils and climates.
Naturally fermented using indigenous yeasts in concrete tanks, with just one gentle pump-over a day to keep things soft and juicy. After pressing, the wine rests in concrete and large 500-litre barrels, where oak is used for stability and texture — not flavour. The result is a wine with smooth tannins, pure fruit and effortless flow.

ABOUT THE PRODUCER
MacRobert & Canals is a small, family-owned winery formed through the integration of Bryan MacRobert, a South African oenologist, into the Canals family, who have been farming in Rioja for over forty years. Bryan has a cellar in Logroño and looks after small parcels of old vines, often inaccessible to most machinery and ploughed by mule.
Their wines focus on expressing place with freshness, balance and respect for the environment.
